slidekicks ice scratchers

Go with the original style......I had bad luck with the cable style....they cost more.....the replacement tips cost more to replace........they do not have good downward pressure.....with the older style there is NOT questiona at all if they are working properly.....just my .02

It depends on your snow conditions. We run both styles, I have Holz traditional spring style on my 07 Dragon, and Slidekicks on my wives 2010 RMK. Both work great for us with engines temps staying around 126 degrees. We have never had to raise/store the Slidekicks like you have to with my traditional style (loading, unloading, reverse, etc). I'll be buying Slidekicks if I ever have to replace my spring style. Remember it depends on YOUR SNOW conditions. If you are running on glare ice all day, the springs are better, but if you are just running a trail to the mountain, Slidekicks should work fine.

I have been running Slidekicks for 3 years now and with the new corrective bend there is no issue with not having enough downward pressure and if you use the carbide tips they work great ice or trail.

thanks for the advise folks, really helps out i think im going to try them, mainly will be used for trail ridding to get to the good spots.

So I must not have the "new style" ones. But if you would like to try a pair before you buy I'll send you mine. Free. I' will not be putting them back on my sled.

They were were always bouncing off were they hook over the rails or in an eye hook and rubbing/scratching the track. Rough trails or in the pow didn't matter every time I stopped they were unhooked and on the track. Never did tear the track or anything but annoying. And they never seemed to through up any snow/ice for me. But as I said I may not have the new ones. Bought them in OCT of 09.

I really hate to bash anyone's product but they just didn't work for me.

Note: I have an Ez-Ryde skid and never tried them on a stock skid they may work fine on a different skid.

Really I'll send them to yea

That is one of the advantages of Slidekicks, you don't have to put them up on the rails, leave them down. I think putting them up all the time is why they didn't work for you. Keeping the cable bent up like that probably caused the cable to loose most of its dowward pressure, and also made them bend inward and want to ride on your track? But like every product out there, they aren't for everyone or every snow condition.

I've had slidekicks on my Dragon since new and they worked fine with the stock skid. Once I put on the Timbersled suspension they don't kick up enough spray to prevent my hyfax from melting.

I ran mine for 1 ride, then put the original style back on. It was a pretty icy, hard pack morning, but they just didnt throw the kind of spray I wanted/needed. I was overheating in minutes, they were throwing up little chunks of snow/ice. The original style throws up a spray of fine ice/snow that offers more cooling and hyfax lubrication that worked perfect in the exact same snow conditions a week earlier.

Thats my .02 cents worth

I got them on Both Sleds 07 Polaris 600

Temps stay right at 122-126 Temp..

On the trail or Off trail..

Work Great... Even made my own tips!!

A+++

Just finished a 3 day riding trip and a sled in our group had them. I wasnt to impressed watching what came off his rails....they dont have enough pressure....go with the original style PM summitseeker on here he has what you need.

I HAVE A SET I WILL SEND TO WHOEVER WANTS TO PAY THE SHIPPING.......I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER SET OF RAILS RUINED :(

I WOULD SUGGEST USING THE ORIGINAL STYLE BECAUSE THEY WILL WORK IN ANY SNOW CONDITION

You have a good point. I think more than anything it was the ez-ryde that wasn't compatable with the sidekicks. I started hooking them up because they were on the track from day one.

Mountain Mod Mania put the Sidekicks on the "Ultimate Ski Doo" and love em!
I got tired of bending up the old style ones.
