Sleds are so lengthy now

I was pondering what to do with my two place floe trailer for my new sled. Was thinking about putting an enclosure on it for my new upcoming sled. The sled with a 162" track is 130" long! Not sure how long my old summitX with a 151" was. Now that I think of it, the back of the track hung over the end of the trailer.......

I think my older floe trailer is 120" long"

DOH!!!

Hmm, maybe need to look at a different trailer? or is there something that might work for these longer sleds? (I dont want a homemade dealie-oh)

I want to go enclosed,,,,,,,, I bet I am screwed with my current set up

Any Ideas?

If you want an enclosed, sounds like you need a new trailer. Not worth the effort trying to make a short open trailer longer and enclosed.

I think you guys are right. I never used to even think about wether a sled hung over the back of the trailer a bit. Now that I want to enclose the trailer, it is now a big deal.......

My 162" M7 requires a 12 foot trailer with the Top Cap (fibergalss clamshell type) and even then not a lot of room to spare. You can not get a 174" M in that trailer.

In our enclosed trailer we now put blocks of wood under the front 2 sleds tracks propping them up a bit and putting the other 2 sleds in underneath them a bit to make them fit. It's a pain but is a lot cheaper than buying a new trailer!! I did have an idea of putting pet doors on the front door so the skis can go thru them to give us a little more room but haven't gotten to that yet. If sleds keep getting longer, I'll probably get to that point.
