Looking for some reviews on the sledneck lineup of coats and pants. Was going to get a KLIM Powerxross coat but there on back order for awhile. Im in need of some new gear as i ripped my KLIM ones. Im liking the looks of the Sledneck defender series gear. So would like some real reviews from people that have tried them.

Never mind found one on shadetree and bought the last black 2xl they had.

i dig em. Ive had/have klim stuff but i think the slednecks stuff looks a lot better. All in your style though. Klim is gore tex and you cant beat that, but i stay dry in my slednecks gear too for half the price..

Defender line is designed to be a shell. Not good unless you wear many layers or use it as it was intended; for spring and fall days. I have heard there gear has gotten better over the years, but my stuff from Slednecks has had many issues. For example, zipper and warmth problems. However, this was a few years back. I do love my sweatshirts from them the most and my brother has been happy with the Burandt Edition (I think it's called Bomber Line). It's hard to compete with Klim because Klim is so proven. I have a Klim jacket from 2006 that is still going strong. I to tried to switch to Sledneck's for the look's, just wasn't that impressed with craftmanship at that time. I hope someone with a more current review will respond b/c I would like to see a review of some current models, since they charge Klim prices.

I do have the Bomber Line (which I think they now call it Burandt Line). I have had it for 2 seasons, going on the 3rd this winter. It was cheaper when I bought it, and was the reason I didn't go with Klim. I love it and have had no problems. As said above, the Bomber Line is insulated and does a good job of keeping me warm. I ride in Colorado and usually only wear a T-shirt and thin sweat pants under (unless it gets sub zero). Even though it is not Gore-Tex brand I have never gotten wet. I would recommend the line. Whether or not I would chose it over Klim? That's hard to say simply because they are very close in price these days. Good luck with your choice and hope you are happy.

I have the 2012 burandt jacket and pants. They have lots of nice little features like the loops that hook around your boot laces to keep your pant leg down, but one of those tore off in 3 days of riding. Also, one of the loops that holds the powder skirt to the pants tore off in 3 days and it wasn't even attached to anything! To add insult to injury the stuff showed up a month late.

I also submitted a review much to the same effect as this on firstplaceparts(where I bought them) but naturally they won't post something that isn't favorable.

Bottom line: well thought out, poor quality control.

i have the defender pants and love em. Had 3 pr of bandit pants and loved them too. I always used the boot lace loop and havent had an issue ever. I tore one hole in them from the running board but other than that they have been all you can ask for and at under $200,figure it out. I just got a new hmk hustler jacket and havent got to ride with it but the features are pretty cool too. Nice inside pockets, powder skirt, ipod holder, removable hood, magnetic zipper flaps(badass) and a goggle cleaner in a small pocket on your left wrist. Just an idea;)

Thank you for the post. I have never had an issue with the powder skirt or the boot lace locks and I use them every time I ride. I have read similar quality related issues recently on Snowest. It's making me wonder if they are dropping quality in exchange for quantity??? I may be looking for new gear next year and this will make me look more closely.

I had the Defender stuff 3 years ago. It lasted a week. Yippers blown off, holes in pockets, even the lettering came off the arm of the jacket. All in a week.

Slednecks was good about and refunded all my money and even paid for return shipping. I bought Klim stuff afterwards and never looked back. You get what you pay for!

i thought the slednecks stuff is made by klim??? or it use to be, i swear my friends jacket had a klim tag inside but they just are not goretex

I am on my third season with the bomber "Burant" pants they were leaking on the third ride out after I bought them. But I spray them down with camp dry water proofing about three times a season and they stay dry now. They have been tough I beet them off the trees every day and haven't ripped them yet. Knock on wood!
