sledding rossland area or trail bc

thanks very much for the reply i will do that. ya i am from vancouver and i am going to visit him for a couple weeks and i have two sleds so i figure i would get him into it, he already rides dirt bikes and quads!:beer;

I ride down there a few times each year, my buddy lives near Nelson and we usually ride at a place called Blewit,its in between Castlegar and Nelson,awesome place to ride

It as good as it gets you just have to make your way to it,and its not hard to get to you need to get to Castelgar and head for Nelson,pass the junction ( #6 HWY) and keep heading for Nelson watch your speed its a 80km and they love to pull you over and take a sniff,be careful,anyway when you get to south slocan watch out for a road called Blewitt its a right turn,after you cross the second bridge take your immediate right,its a logging rd,stay on the main rd and depending on conditions you will see the staging areas,easy to get too,after u unload and head up stay on main trail until u get up there and then u will have a wicked ride,talk to some of the fella's you will see and ask where or what ever its a awesome place to ride. oh yea if u google earth here's the cordnations 49* 27'18.40" N 117*28'20.18"W anymore else i can do to help,just let me know.

thanks, one more thing when does the season start there i am going to be out there mid december, do you think there will be enough snow, is it trees and boondocking or is it alpine? thanks again man

Its both there should be plenty of snow by then the kootneys get a sh!t load of snow,lots of boondocking and some wicked hillclimbs in the back.

Hope this link works.

It's the hill cam on top of Granite mtn at Red mtn ski resort in Rossland. Not enough snow yet to even think about sledding, we're still quadding for now! :D

And Nancy Greene area is West Kootenay Snogoers area, Castlegar Club has the Norns/Ladybird north of Castlegar.

Usually by mid Dec it's still road riding, gotta watch for rocks/stumps in the cutblocks and alpine areas unless we get a really good start. Hasn't happened yet here.
