Not much news on how it happened but just found out a man I know was killed while snowmobiling on Potato Hill outside of Randle this weekend. As I understand it he was pinned under his machine and either suffered a broken neck or sufficated ( I hope it was fast ). This was not an avalanche.
My heart goes out to his family and the guys in my group who found him and then hauled his body out to the snopark. This will weight heavy for a long time on everyone involved I'm sure.
The group was at the top and noticed he was missing when they found him the sled was ontop of him. He and a friend had grouped up with my normal crew for the day and they found him and hauled the body out on one of there sleds.
This guy was no rooky. This was a freak deal in an area that is very popular.
Dark day
