SledDeck On a Tacoma?

if thats anything like my 162 sled, its just shy of 12 feet long. and that on a 6 foot box is scary, my truck has a 6.5' bed and i get like 3 or 4 lugs on the bed, then the tailgate and then its like 4 feet just chilling, could be done, but add some airbags definately

when i hop on the corner of my buddies tacoma it sags like an inch or two, and i weigh in at maybe 150. so you would want plenty of support and some wide tires.

budy has a 3 inch kit, and now its getting kinda sketchy, its a skinny arse box and axles, so i would be really leary of putting a bed on a lifted on. how wide is the box top rails, outside edge to outside edge.

Ahhh, No! You do not have the capacity to carry passengers, the deck and the load of snowmobiles and equipment. Source: MFR GVW info plate. Most half ton and light 3/4 ton trucks do not as well. Heavy 3/4 ton and up are needed to be safe.

NOW WE HAVE SEEN PEOPLE GET AWAY WITH SOMETHING UNSAFE FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. We will not be pleased to see someone get in trouble trying to push an unwise position.

The Canadian Government even regulates enforcement of Over GVW situations caused by sled decks in half tons.

hmm. Well the olny reason i wanted to i didnt wana damage the tail hate. i guess ill just buff it up and load it from the back. I got the tacoma to save gas $ so not pulling the 2 place would prob save me a bit over the season+ Not worrying about getting it stuck.

not a good plan dude, this is a pic of my 163 on a dodge with 6'deck on it, looked purty funny to say the least.there is no way I would put 2 of those on a tacoma, let alone a lifted one. 2 on the back of my lifted '75 chevy was scary enough wobbling down the road. You should have airbags to pack one sled in a tacoma and you still might be overweight

just make yourself a strong tailgate, easy to do, and would work great for the longer sled. or you could do like the idea i had, and make like a 6 foot loading ramp, that mounts into the tailgate hinges in the front and uses an adapter in the hitch, to hold the thing level when driving. get the idea? unhook the hitch part, and then you have a ramp utilizing something like this to do the angle adjusting on the tailgate.

just cause you can? Doesn't mean you should?

I've seen it. You'll have to use a short deck and do some mods the carriage under neath. Then spend the 300 bucks on an air bag suspension and yer on yer way to the mountains.....
