"9 sledchix, lots of sponsors, 3 days……. This is a first of its kind sled build. Like us and keep up to date on our progress.
We chose the theme for this sled build to be “it ain’t gonna build itself”. Why? Sledding requires motivation, action and ambition. So does building a custom sled….it ain’t gonna build itself! Our goal is to do something new. Something more than just riding and representing on the snow. We want a sled to be set up for our specific needs and we are just going to build it. In addition, we want to show case the sponsors that support the chix! Women can be found in many areas of the industry today. They are business owners. They are land use activists. They are journalists. They are photographers. They are competitors. Women are an integral part of today’s sledding landscape. Building our own sled and inviting you to watch our progress is just another to reminder to all sledders and industry leaders, the women are here. We are here to stay.
The build will be done September 27-29 (3 DAYS!) by nine women representing a cross-section of women involved in the sledding industry. None of this would be possible without the support of our fabulous sponsors!
We will be sharing pictures and behind-the-scenes stories along the way. Like this page to follow our progress. The sled will be on display at the following snow shows this fall: Denver, Puyallup, Salt Lake City, Spokane and Boise. The sledchix builders will be attending these shows to answer any questions you may have about this one of a kind build."
