Sled Wrap Installations! How much??

I was wondering if anyone has any info or estimates on how much it is to have someone put on a sled wrap for me. I can't find quotes or rough estimates anywhere! Has anyone had their wrap put on buy a professional and how much did it cost!?

I sent my hood and side panels to ArcticFx a few years back. He didn't have a template for my hood(FST) so he(Jordan) installed for free. If you have a sign/graphics place nearby you they should be able to do it for a decent price. In reality it's not very hard at all if you do it wet. A couple drops of dish soap in water in a new spray bottle. Lightly mist everything, position the graphics, then squeegee the water out. I let mine dry for several days then used a heat gun to form everything around rivets and such. Piece of cake. I've done 4 sleds now. Here's my last one

Good deal! I may to have revert to doing it myself... I have watched a couple of videos and seen the process of doing it wet. Just nervous I guess, don't wanna screw anything up! :face-icon-small-disup!

I just did my first one the other day. Used the application kit from AFX and it was alot more forgiving that I thought it would be. I started on a small part of the hood that I figured I could take off and not miss if I screwed it up. Learned quickly, then the rest went just fine. Do it wet... its not that bad.
Read through this... its helpful.

The hardest part I thought was making sure I had the right sticker for the right section... its like a puzzle haha, a little time consuming but its definitely doable.

Mine turned out good :face-icon-small-coo

I just saw your sled posted on my Facebook from ArcticFX Graphics! You wont that wrap right?! Looks good!! I prob will end up doing it myself. I have the tunnel side decals to put on as well! Thanks for the info!

Thanks! Yup I won it on one of their overstock giveaways. Good luck on the install!

Just spoke with Jordan at Arctic FX the other day when I ordered some stuff and asked him about wet vs. dry application. He actually recommended doing the dry method over wet.

I really like the wrap on the running boards/tunnel.

Have any issues with the wrap along the boards getting rashed up from your boots?

I'm curious why he recommended dry too. I've done the last two kits wet. It allows you to fix your mistakes and really get things lined up well. Maybe he has done so many that he knows exactly where to start each decal.

I've always done mine wet with out any problems , it is a more forgiving method

Wet vs dry will depend on the type of vinyl / adhesive you have. Ask the person producing the wrap which application method to use. It should say in the instructions whether to use water or not.

Some kits will have bubble free adhesive that lets the air out when you squeegee it. This kind is super easy to pull back up and adjust to fit. If you use water with that type, it will fail and fall off!

Others will have super aggressive adhesive that sticks like crazy the second you touch it to the panel and will trap air in under it if you are a beginner. Use water on that type.

I've done a few wraps...couple sleds and a couple quads...I prefer to do mine wet. I used the AFX application kit. It seems like a daunting task, but it's really not that bad, just need some patients.

"1. Roll out your graphic kit and let it sit for a period of 1 hour. During this time you can
clean your panels and inspect the graphic kit and layout using our model specific
application keys found on the ArcticFX website and included with your kit. Apply your
graphics DRY ONLY when using AFX AIR
PASS© vinyl. You can tell AIRPASS© vinyl by

the cross
hatch pattern in the adhesive."

There was no crosshatch in my vinyl's adhesive so I went wet. Hopefully I chose right and it lasts.

The air-pass system sounds pretty cool. I'm intrigued to try that, haha. Both my AFX kits were done before that was around...

I believe the price is not in installation, but in cost of graphics. They`re way overpriced. 400 USD for hood vinyl? Gimme a break. I can understand this price if graphic is unique, and you never gonna see a sled like yours. In reality there are a lot of sleds alike.
For applying vinyl - just find a graphics shops around you, and get a quote from each. Sled film application is little bit different to vehicle application process due to more harsh environment (mechanical interactions of film with snow and other objects). So, just make sure they KNOW WTF they`re doing.

Or, just do it yourself - I can help you to go over whole process.

There ya go, that's what he was talking about.
