sled won't idle

my sled runs perfect at 2k Rpm and above, if i let if drop below it dies. any suggestions would help. the sled is a 2000 700 with round slide carbs.

Turn in the idle screw so it runs at 2000 rpm

air screw (pretty sure the roundies are "air" not "fuel" screws)

and...well, the idle screw as mentioned above.

I have seen belts blow and wreck the crank seal behind the clutch. They idle high but drop off and die when you try to slow it down.

any chance you are seeing this? Also same thing if a hose is off to crank case.

I have seen bad choke cables causing this problem on several 700's. look at the end of the cable where the little black box is. But you might not see any damage on there, could just be bound up a little. If it is sticking just a little bit it will cause this problem! Just buy a new choke cable, don't bother fixing the old one, it will just stick again.

enrichment piston in carb not seating, make sure that you dont have any problems with your reeds as well. Make sure the idle mixture passage inst plugged.

make sure your pilot jet isn't pluged or damaged.
