Sled killed, ran like poop

Hey guys, picked up a 12 pro with silber kit that only had 200 miles on kit. Was out in pinedale a few weeks ago and on the first day I got it dialed in and ran awesome!! At the end of the day I started to get a blubber when I would pin it from a stop. Made some adjustments and seemed better. Go and climb a hill and I get 15ft from the top and sled dies. Sled started rolling back so I bailed and we went for a tumble. Got to the sled and turn it upright and slowly pulled recoil and turned over easy. Started the sled up and met up with group at the bottom and then I noticed I could only go 20mph and when I would pin the throttle the would just me a blaaaaaa . So change plugs and old ones looked good. Still same thing. Limped it back to the truck and called Justin and also spoke with David from next level and they told me to check a few things. Turbo is spinning freely, little movement side to side up/down but not much I think. Oil pump is working fine. Justin gave me some different numbers to try in my box and I did that the next day and i took it down the trail to see if it did anything and it sputtered a bit but was able to slowly get it to 50mph but can't build any boost?! And my blue isn't coming on on my controller. Got it contact with Corey and he thought it was a boost leak to him so the next day I checked what I could for cracks, leaks in boost lines(it was cold and windy outside working on a open trailer so I didn't spend all day on it) and I couldnt find nothing wrong waste gate looks good and the blow off valve is closing. So I just called Justin and asked if I could bring it to him when I got back from my trip and he said ya they would look at it. I have been busy since I got back from wyoming and havent had time to look into sled. Going to go early morning tomorrow and put it up on stand and get a good look at her. Thoughts what might have gone wrong or troubled areas to look at? Maybe fuel controller took a poop?

Thanks in advance everyone

Well if the fuel controller I've got one off my 12' that works fine if interested. Hate to say it, but could it be possible that cylinder skirt broke and punched a hole in the bottom of the case....?

was it wet or raining

My sled did that to me 2 weeks ago, it was moisture in my fuel controller box, check your fuel controller box grounds and dry out sled and box in a heated garage for a day or two and then try it. did this to mine, rode it the next weekend, zero issues.

I haven't drove it since I got back to Mn. Its been sitting in the shop(not always heated) since we got back. Cross my fingers controller got wet and needed to dry out and ill check the ground too. And just double check all line and stuff again. Had her dialed in screamin like the ex and then all of a sudden that happened. Sled only has 600 miles and 200 boosted, good thing we brought another pro for a spare on our trip or my week woulda sucked!!

Not positive, but did the 12 kits have the old control box with the boost reference line running to the controller? if your box isn't reading boost correctly that could be affecting also. Or…..Reeds…but normally they idle funky if thats the case.

Your first step should be a pressure test to find if you are loosing boost anywhere on the system, exhaust included.

Cap the Turbo, and exhaust, add pressure, and spray down with soap and water. If you are loosing pressure (boost leak) it will be obvious.

Update: checkered over boost lines and exhaust for any kind of leaks or weak spots. Didn't find anything. Ground for controller was good. Took sled for a ride, sputters up to 50mph and that's all I can get out of it. First 3 lights look to turn orange color. No blue showing up and not building any boost. I was also losing some oil out of the top fitting of the turbo, checked and everything was tight but I took off the line and put some teflon tape around fitting and topped off oil. When I took it for a ride she was smoking like it was on fire and there was oil coming out of my exhaust, top fitting on the turbo coming from oil pump and also leaking from gasket on turbo going exhaust down pipe muffler? Took intake off and turbo is spinningu could maybe something else wrong with turbo? Spoke with Justin about the oil issue and he said It sounded like there was too much oil in the tank and wasn't circulating. It was filled to top of sightglass

pull a spark plug or two. use a nice flashlight and look at the internals of the engine. if you don't see any piston/cylinder damage your worries are elsewhere.

hey guys, thanks for all think input and things to look at. looks like a bearing or seal went out in the center section of the turbo :( still don't know how this happened with only 200 miles on it, oil level was kept an eye one. I decided to take the charge tube off to see if there was any spots it rubbed through or any cracks I missed and first thing I saw was oil running down inside.... no use rebuilding it, going to get the new kpa turbo and bullydog programmer upgrade kit this summer
