My friends 2007 Rev Expedition. Works ok until it ingests abit of snow. Then the engine keeps switching from forward/reverse/forward/reverse. let it sit for a while and it works again until you hit a drift. Anyone else heard off this? where to start?
Uplug one wire off the RER button next trip and see what happens.
I wonder if water isn't dripping down and shorting the button out (clear water is not much of a conductor tho?) or if ice is gitting into the button and not letting it return all the way out?
RER buttons are a perishable item. At least on the Zx - I would completely blow one out of mine at least once a season with my knee, and in full 2 stroke fashion - since it happened with the motor running - never fealt a thing! (even after I knew that I had done it!)
it is water in the switch, the two wires are next too each other on the plug inside the housing. ice buildup in the switch causes a connection and it will switch back and forth between forward and reverse. I have seen this countless times. dry out the switch housing and add a chit ton of dielectric grease when reinstalling.
