Sled is fouling plugs

My friend has a 96 Polaris 440 that he says is fouling plugs. He says it will run ok until he stops for refreshments. When he comes back to the sled it won't start unless it is choked and when it starts he fouls a plug. Could this be because the carbs are dirty. They have never been cleaned.

You answered your own question. Pull the carbs out, take them apart, pull the mains, pilots and spray with carb cleaner. Spray out the bowls and the floats, let the parts sit for awhile, then spray them off with compressed air and put it back together.

It is all gummed up.

If you have specific questions, PM me.

These carbs are about as easy as you can get to take apart.......
