sled decks for small trucks??

Does anybody know if there are sled decks out there for small trucks like tacomas or colorados/canyons?

I have an 05 canyon and i want to throw a sled deck on. Let me know if anybody has any info on them?

First off, not knowing what the payload capacity is for an 05 Canyon, i would have to guess it is far from enough to handle the deck and 2 sleds. So i'm pretty sure no 2 place decks are made for any 1/4 ton trucks.

So, you would be best to look into something like this...

Full Lotus Metals makes something very similar. I would highly recommend all aluminum for sure.

payload

I believe the payload for a canyon is in the 1000 pound neighborhood. I am pretty sure it could handle the weight of two pros pretty easily. I put mine it the back with no problem.

Does anybody make sled decks in the salt lake area?

i think you aren't accounting for the weight of the deck, 2 sleds, you and your gear... you will be well over weight.

Most guys don't feel that a 1/2 ton has enough payload, so your 1/4 ton will not get the job done.

2 gassed up pros - 1000# even (being generous)
deck w/ramp (alum) 400# at least
2(200# guys) 400#
gear 2x (25#) 50#

total 1850#... only 85% overweight.

dang you, your only just about double the capacity. and thats assuming you have nothing squireled away in your truck. its safe!! lol

O'ya that should be no problem...just put a set of air bags on it and yer good to go...NOT!

Every year these threads just keep showing up with smaller and smaller trucks. Why don't you just do a search on the topic, there are plenty of posts on this subject right here on SW for your personal entertainment.
