Who's using a slip tank under a sled deck ?
Looking to use a small slip tank under a Marathon sled deck, maybe 30ish gallon, looking for feedback on set-ups etc. What is legal in AB and BC?
Going into 3/4 ton Duramax.

I am looking to do EXACTLY what you are. If you have any luck please let me know and I'll do the same! So far I haven't had much luck, I'm thinking of getting a custom one built to fit. I want to use it for sledding and boating in the summer.

Thanks!

there's a company I have read about in the diesel power mags, called Titan, that makes aux. fuel tanks, both frame mount (larger than stock cap.) and in-bed. They might be worth a phone call to see if they have a product to fit your needs. Personally, I'm going to weld up my own fuel cell for my jeep, but I have to consider the U.S. venting and other crap they 'test' for.

For an aux. tank, that's not connected to your vehicles supply system, you may just be limited by the Canadian equivalent to our Dept. of Transportation (DOT) with regards to quantity of cargo, and what it's flammability is, and if you would have to placard it.

If you are talking about Titan Industries' tanks out of Prince George they have been bankrupt for about 5 years.....and trust me that's a good thing!

Build one that fits under your deck, build it properly mind you......then don't tell anyone about it. It won't be legal in B.C., but who's gonna know? They need to be double wall and certified to be legal up here now. I haven't been able to find a commercial one the right dimensions. Don't forget to tie a ground wire to it with a clip on the end for when your transferring fuel into or out of it to bleed off any static charge. Huge fire hazard, especially if you have a box liner under it.

Have you seen my set up , my front legs on my deck are the same as the back ones so my alum tank sits in between the legs , stf made this one , has a lid in the deck to fill . works great legal ??? not so much
gongaware makes a couple different sizes of metal tanks as well 120 litre and 180 litre
on my las truck i laid the tank down and shortened the front legs on the deck so it sat on the tank , it worked good as well , burrensy moved his front loegs back and stood the tank up on edge right at the front , they all work good , so there is 3 ideas for ya

i have a custom made one that sits about 8 inches below my box, then the pump sits about a 1/2 inch above . im just trying to find a good used sled deck that i wont feel bad modding a bit . i just plan on cutting out a filler hole in the deck and extending the filler neck on the tank. as far as i know the tanks just have to be stapped to youre frame in AB and ive been pulled over by the d.o.t a few times and they ve never said any thing . theres also remote fill tanks that ive seen but there quite a bit more $. if you want a custom tank built pm me and ill give you the guys number , it was cheeper than to buy one from gregs!
