I'm wanting to get a sled deck have an 03 F250 was wondering if I should put air bags on it to help stablize it. Any input would be helpful.

yes get the air bags I have a F-350 and they really help.. I recommend getting the compressor and everthing if you can afford it .. I dont have the comp. and wish I did so I could adjust going down the road..

Naw you dont need the fancy compresser. Just get the fire stone bags they are rated for 5000lbs. They are a peice of cake to install, I can do a complete set in about an hr, just got make sure you do a good job premarking holes in frame. With deck and sleds I like to run my bags at about 70psi, I have a 00 250 stroker. Good luck

f-250

Sure it most definetely helps, but they are not mandatory.. I have a 97 F-250 diesel, big nasty front bumper and a heavy flatbet.. she tips the scales at 8000 pounds full tanks with me in it. Ive been rockin two sleds on the back and pulling a trailer with another 2-3 sleds on occasion for about 4 years and I wouldnt even consider getting them. Just my opinion.. you already have a good hauling truck, they dont pay all those engineers at ford/gm/dodge to design something that doesnt work from the factory otherwise 1-ton trucks would come from the factory with airbags...........

1 ton with bags makes the truck very versatile. I haul all sorts of combinations.

The bags make it effortless. I don't have a compressor..........wish I did. But not a necessity.

Just put a set on my '00 F350 Stroker and wished I had done it years ago. World of difference and a piece of cak to install. Lots less sway. I bought the Firestone bag and they are top-notch in construction. Just left for CO with a steel sled deck with two sleds and pulling a four place enclosed loaded to the max. No Problem and whole load rides much more level. These bags are great.

BAG IT! I too wish had the built compressor to lower truck for loading. Works good to level load if your only carrying one off center. Reduce spring fatigue too.
