SLED DECK STORAGE???

So I am trying to figure out a good way to remove and install the sled deck on my truck with only one person without breakng my back. Anyone figure a good system out? I was thinking camper jacks would be sweet but they are 500.00 and up for a set. I am now thinking of some 4x4 posts with a caster wheel at the bottom of each and a mount on the deck for them to slide into. Anyone have something better?

Keep looking for crank and cable style camper jacks. Pawn shops, second hand stores, and garage sales. I think mine are Brophy brand, 75.00 for the pair, yard sale find.

Just looked on craigslist they are out there 50.00 a pair. Also google brophy camper jacks 230.00 a pair brand new.

I back up to a 4' high flat-top bank and slide it out. I have it set up pretty easily.

Pickup camper jacks don't sound like too bad of an idea.

You could also get some railroad ties and make some cribbing...then you can just back up to it and slide it out onto it like I do my hillside.

backup close to a tree, tilt the deck out of the bed and tie off to tree. When ready to reinstall, back up to deck and let strap loose.

I use to use my ramp, just put it on your tailgate and slide it down, pull the ramp off the gate and you are done, putting it on use the ramp again and use a comealong to the tie downs inside your box. The deck I use to own was about 600 lbs (heavy pig) and I could do it by my self no problem.

I use my little fork lift. I made a plywood bottom for my deck so I could leave every thing in the deck bottom, I can pick up the deck, sleds and all and set it on the ground.

I used a skate board on one end and broke my back every time with the other end....

I have a silver lake expendable sides and fits a short and long bed.

I back up to it on the ground. Tilt it back on the loading rail and walk it side to side while lifting it over the tailgate so its about a foot above the tailgate. Stop leaving it resting on the tailgate. Run a strap from the bottom tube of the deck to the bed hook in the front of the bed to keep it from sliding back on me. Hop down and go to the end of the deck where I have a short strap around the ramp rail. Lift up deck with strap with 1 hand and push on center of deck with the other. The deck pivets on tailgate till flat then just slide it in and secure. I'm never lifting the full wt of the sled deck. 4 inch lift on a 3/4 4*4 dodge with 35s.

Don't forget to load and unload with out ramp.
