SLC scene?

Hey guys!

I have an interview on tuesday at a place in Orem. I've never been to Utah, nor do I know much about the area. I did some looking today and it looks like you can ride fairly close by.

My question is where are the best places to ride if you live a little south of SLC? Whats the riding scene like there? Are there many younger guys (early-mid 20's) that ride?

Thanks!

When you get here you will see the mountains. Orem is pretty central to a lot of great riding. (A.f. Canyon, strawberry, snake creek, guardsmans, santaquin canyon) and the list goes on. Vineyard is a very very small suburb of Orem. My little brother and all his friends are that age and go quite often in the winter. They all work asphalt so no work in the winter.

I live in Orem and there is no shortage on places to ride or people to ride with :face-icon-small-hap

There is at least 5-6 areas to ride within a hour of Orem. I live in Springville (10 miles south of Orem). and feel like I live in the middle os some of the best ridding in the world ! Living in Orem you could be unloaded and riding in AF canyon in 20 minutes.

I was in SLC area twice this summer. Late June Kids Nationals wrestling tourney at UTU campus and again this past Friday to buy a truck in American Fork.

Orem/American Fork is cool.
I'd love to go riding down there.

I know I don't fit the age group you requested, but I did get carded for a glass of whine this past week. When she saw my ID, she said, "Holy crap, your as old as my mom." LMAO

Haha that's gotta be a good feeling! I used to think it was cool to not get carded.. now it's not exactly a good feeling for someone to think I'm THAT old.

I like to ride with anyone... I was more or less interested in the age thing for some roommates. Having roommates that are the same age and ride sleds is pretty cool.

agree

Orem is a great place for a snowmobiler - especially if Cat could ever put out a decent sled again as you have CPC right there in Orem. I'm in Lehi, about 10 miles north (right next to AF Canyon) and have access to AF canyon 10 minutes away, as well as probably 10 more places within 1.5 hours, with some of those even being less than an hour.

Yeah, it was funny, because my wife gets carded all the time (she'll be 40 this year) and I was just saying earlier that day that it had been a good 5 years since I was carded and I thought that would be it, forever. I'm sure this one will be the last time I get carded though, right?

And as for you...someone who is just about half my age (I'll be 41 in a couple weeks)...is legal to drink. LOL. Makes me feel old.

im 24 and i ride about 2 or 3 times a week. There are some fun places pretty close. we could show you around this winter for sure. we never really leave the trees much though so if youre into that you should come with us

I have a second round interview on Wednesday so hopefully it works out!! Place sounds pretty awesome.

Yeah the tighter and steeper the trees the better. Thats ALL I've been able to ride in Michigan so that's what I like. Also looking to start jumping.

Good luck on the second round.
Hopefully you bring a good winter when you move here.
