Skis?

Mods or Simmons, I have Simmons on mine right now cause If I could affortd a set of Mods thats what would be on my Summit.

Was running the 6.9 pilots for a couple years they are a good ski but in off camber tight turn around spots I couldn`t get them to bite and turn sled would just push the front end, after narrowing my stock control arms to 35inch I installed Simmons skis, they bite better even tho I only got one ride on them at the end of the season but they really bite in and turn well and also in the corners and float well too, I did notice in harder snow they do take more steering effort to turn, but the powder should be easier.

Good Luck, Wildcard

i ride a lot of heavy powder, if you can call it that(west coast cement). I put a pair of Slydog Powderhounds on my mod 1000 Rev, and they work great. Good flotation(which i need being 280lbs. lol ) but still nimble and handle tight stuff well. Found they they still work pretty good on hard pack also with the 8" carbides.

mods worked awesome on my 07 rev

THIS!

Do a search, you'll find the overwhelming majority of BRP riders find Mods to be outstanding, especially for ease of carving/sidehilling. I don't know of one owner that thought another brand was better after they'd ridden Mods.

Have FUN!

You can't go wrong with MODS - phenominal powder ski IMHO.

Been running Mods for 3 years and they work great on the hill and track very well on the trail in. However the side wings get hammered and dont handle slim conditions without damage.I have to replace the skins every year and went a different direction for next season.USI Tripple threat which wasnt really marketed for the mountain and were thought to be too narrow for powder and now ski widths are preferred with a slightly narrower shape after the fad of the Wide Simmons.Too much float wont allow digging a ski easily. They have a deep keel and a tail cut similar to the Carl,s Cycle Mod .They are a full 7 in wide and adjustable at the mounts and replaceable keels. Weight is the same as the Mods.have not run these yet however after running just about every mountain ski these show promise in the design. They are tough and will take the rocks as well. These could be described as a slightly shallower keel than Powder Pros with more rocker, Cut out tails and the replaceable tunable keels take most the rocks hits. The mounts have three mounting locations and the typical center location appears be be to far back for the mountains, will use the forward mounting location. Looking forward to trying these.

Thanks everyone. Now that winter's coming I'm back to working on her. Forgive me for my ignorance but I really don't know all the technical terms about these skis. I know what rocker, camber are but I'm kind of lost when you start talking about skins or flare. Do all skis need to have a carbide? Is this acting as a keel when you turn and helps to keep the ski straight? Thanks, I'm learning. I did just get a dynoport exhaust and have started drilling out dimples in my running boards to help reduce snow build up. After the skis is either a new top end or new motor and a clutch rebuild.

I picked up some USI Project X Skis last year (mainly b/c I got a good deal and needed skis in a pinch), but they ended up being great for me. I was only going from the stock 07 skis, but it was major improvement in overall steering effort, as well as sidehilling and carving. As said above, they are tough skis that can take a little pounding on trees, rocks, etc.

That said, I tried to find some for a friend of mine and couldn't find anyone selling these skis....

----After all the posts here, I'd say go with the Mods! :)
