skis for 97 trail rmk 500 fan

i just picked up a 97 trail rmk 488 fan sled for my 11 year old kid. its got uni skis but they are shot, bent and broken. But i could straighten them out and buy some new bottoms for 100 bucks. cheap new skis would be 200 and good ones 300 plus. So the question is are uni skis as bad as they look or is new plastic bottoms ok? Is there a specific ski that just rocks the 97 rmk? This will be a powder sled as we are in southern B.C. Thanx.

There heavy compared to the newer ones, try looking for some gripper skis i hear lots of guys like them and there normally around $150-200. Or look for some SLPs and Simmons sets they work well also and can find used ones around the same price. Look on Kijiji around BC/AB/ON and the provinces in-between stuff nomally shows up.

Ok i got some simmons gen 1's lightly used for 300. over my budget but hey i only paid 50 for the sled. like pirellis on a pinto.
