Skinz Hand Guards

i do.
i think they work really well. they also look kinda goofy. but i only use em on really cold days on the trail ride to the fun stuff. once im to the play areas or on warmer days, i just thro em in my bag.
and they're simple to put on/off. takes like 30 seconds.
also, no bending/breaking mounts or guards with these.

Thanks. Those were kind of my thoughts...they do look a bit goofy but, I really don't want frozen hands. The hard/plastic ones seem like they would break in a rollover, not that I have ever done that!

I also use them on really cold days as they tend to provide more protection than most other handguards. Like mentioned above, they are nice because you can change take them off or put them on really fast and there are no parts to break!

I had them and didn't like them. It just seemed that they were always in the way since they are attached to the end of the bar. Plus mine never seemed to stay in place, they were always tipped down. Just my .02.

I'm going to give them a try too. I have the new style Polaris handguards and they're worthless. My hands are constantly getting cold when it's below zero.

Skinz Handgaurds

There are a few of us running these on colder mornings on the way up to the bowls. A good thing to do is make sure you keep their shape. My friends that just threw them in the trunk or whatever, ended up softening them this way. Covers also do not get along with them very well. They're guards are very soft now and just hang down and get in the way (useless). Just saying that they work best when new and continue to work if you baby them.

Thanks for the hint about not putting the cover on over them. I wouldn't have thought twice about that.

Just ordered the Skinz guards from Sled Solutions! :D

I wondered about that, I figured squishing them up into a bag they would eventually weaken. Don't have to use a cover so that isn't a problem. Guess I will give them a try and see what happens.

One thing you can do with the hard plastic guards is make sure they are just tight enough to not vibrate down, but loose enough so if you do roll your sled, they will move and not break. Some thing with the bolts that mount the mount to the guard.

I enjoy them for the purpose I use them for. On the trail going to and from the play spots. They only take about a minute to put them on and 30 seconds to take them off. I wouldn’t keep them on in the play areas or if I am looking to make good time down a trail.

On and off is seconds. I have an IQ with a adjustable steering post. When I move it all the way forward they hit the windshield, but no problem because they are soft and don't hurt anything. I use the smaller ones and they offer great coverage. Easy to move from sled to sled. This is starting to sound like an add.

I like

I also use them when needed. Mainly in the cold morning on the trail back to the deep pow!! Once I get to where I wanna play or before I go into the trees, i simply remove them & place them into my tunnel back. They work great! Thanks for the warning about smashing them though!!

I used them all last season. -20 numerous times. I thought they worked great! I never had a problem with them not staying in place or keeping their shape. I certainly never found them to be in the way. They form a nice cover around your hand. I actually was able to tell a difference in warmth. I used to use the plastic style and after using the Skinz heat loc handguards. I can honestly say the plastic ones were just for looks. Plus you don't have to worry about bending and breaking mount kits. Or where to put the mount kit.

got the carbon fibre ones on my sled, they are a big help for colder temps. broke the velcro straps meant to wrap around the end of the bars on the outsides, should've removed them before aggressively riding thru the trees. mine have a metal grommet in the ends, got some plastic push darts from the body shop and mounted them thru the handguards into the ends of the grips on the outside.

didn't like the big skinz label on the front, heated the labels with a heat gun on low and they peeled right off.
