Skinz Front Bumper With SLP Pipe

I have been searching and would guess some one has posted about this combination?

I just wondering would you have done for mounting a skinz front bumper with the SLP pipe? Specifically how to mount the extra exhaust spring tab that comes with the SLP Pipe

I did get it to work together! I do not remember what exactly the problem with installation was but I went to garage to get some photos. Seems that the Skinz bumper was in a way of the SLP exhaust bracket and the spring. Look at the pics to see what I did to work around that!

Did you have any issues with the one spring touching the side of the pipe? I am wondering if the vibrations would eventually rub a hole in the side of the pipe . . ?

This is a brand new setup and I have not ridden it yet, also the spring is barely touching the exhaust however I confirm that it is actually touching. I also think it should be easy to put something in between the exhaust and the spring to prevent any rubbing!

I would do something for sure, the vibration would rub a hole in that pipe in no time, pretty thin stamped steel there…

i thought it looked like it was touching in the picture. The walls of the pipe are so thin (like noted above) that there will be a hole rubbed through very quickly as there is alot of vibration when these engines are running. Good time for some preventative action :)

as I said it is barely touching, however it is still touching anyway and I am sure you are right, it will eventually rub a hole therefore I am going to look into that and make a fix, don't know yet what I am gonna do, but I will make you know later. Was thinking about putting some rubber in between exhaust and the spring or removing the spring altogether. Opinions?

A simple fix would be to remove that spring and run a nice wide bead of high temp RTV down the spring. Let dry 24 hours and reinstall the spring. The rtv will stretch and provide a nice cushion that wont melt, or fall out, but still protect the pipe. Eric

yeah, seems like this is some kind of an english language abbreviation I knew nothing about (I am not a native speaker) :)

so do you think that spring will not rub through the silicone?

My new Skinz bumper went on perfectly and there was no contact by the spring. I am not sure why others are having problems. I do have an SLP pipe.

did you use the extra spring tab that came with the SLP pipe?

My concern is that when you put the extra spring tab on that comes with the SLP pipe there will not be enough tension on from the one bolt that holds the spring tab. When pulling the exhaust spring it will pull the spring tab with it because with the stock front bumper the spring tab was held down.

If that makes any sense?

I guess I should just try it instead of typing haha

I was just trying to see if anyone else had a solution before attempting
