Has anyone used this? Aluminum uppers and lowers with the billit spindles.
Any issues with breaking hiem joints? 1/2"-or the lt wt 5/8 ??
A arms bending pretty ez??
Last winter I was really impressed with the 850 stock geometry and rode some of Burandt's sleds 2018's with a Skinz front end which was way better than the stock 18. I don't have any time on the new Skinz but thinking of ordering a set. I see there are 2 kits, one for standard and one for longer length shocks. Still uses the sway bar and made in the USA.
So the question came up a year or so again about this front, and I said that the Burandt Extreme, took all the good Axys attributes and made them even better. I got beat up pretty good, and pretty much called a dumb azz....
So what did you like about it over stock??
How bad is it bent. I forgot about this. buddy built a jig to straighten them. There was a certain pressure or early variation that bent easily. I need to ask. After the first one bent it got straightened out and we didn’t have any more issues. I will get more info.
Ride height is raised intentionally.
The Extreme Technical is the "old" set up. It is still a awesome front end. Arms are great, the hiems are quality but meant to break before the arm. We always carried a spare. Its a pretty common hiem. It is definitely an improvement on a already great sled.
The newest front end is the Burandt Free Flo. This is just hitting market, as there is only a few out there. It has been tested for quit a while though. If you get on social media Burandt or Robinson posted pics of a black sled, it had a Free Flo front on it. It looks similar to a Kmod, Raptor or Trencher, but geometry is not.
I believe you can adjust this all the way down to 34" wide front. It gets rid of the hiems and has the ball joint like the stock front. This allows for a easier install, but now there is no camber adjustment. The new front also allows for the use of the sway bar. You can order with either lowers that accept the longer shocks or the new 19' shorter shocks. The longer shock version will give you more ride height adjustability with shock lengths. 1/2" above, stock, 1/2" below, if I remember right. If you look at Burandt, Entz, and Adams personal sleds, they are all running a raised ride height.
I will be running the Free Flo short shock version, with Ohlins all the way around this year and sway bar. Everything should be here shortly.
One buddy will be running the long shock version with ohlins all the way around. A couple are running different length Fox.
Either way, Free Flo or Burandt Extreme, they are both fantastic fronts.
They returned my call we'd afternoon. I talked with a gentleman about my situation. He told me it had to be built and would be done the following day. We will see how that pans out. He explained the difference between this all aluminum vs chromoly front end. How to set it up correctly. Very knowledgeable and all round nice guy. Can't forget the gal that returned my call. I'm hoping I they get it done as promptly as he said it would be. Had an original isse when I purchased the susp. They got it handled relatively fast. So far been really good to deal with. Great customer service.
Sparky.....I thought in March of 2015 you told me the axys wouldn't need narrow front end??? JK What width is this front you are installing? Also 2019 came factory narrow.

Can are did you notice any differences besides the narrow ski-stance vs your stock front end? Side hill better same turning radius?
Yeah it doesn't look too bad either. Pro flections in Auburn polished uppers and skinz did the lowers. It was all black when I got it. A few pics of the A arm.The QS3 R shocks are a huge difference. Super simple to adjust with noticable reaction to changes. This susp soaks up the bumps tremendously. Steering is alot more responsive and predictable. Turning radius may be a little tighter. Side hilling seemed a little more effortless. Obviously because it is narrower now.
