Skinz ARC 2x "cheaper" kit

I posted up a product announcement in the General section for this with photos etc.

I like the Raptor shock on it... and will probably be ordering one from WPS when they have it in stock... should be pretty cool...but time will tell.

.

Ya looks good to me too. Surprised I hadn't heard more talk of it yet.

That's a much better price point for what it is. Any idea on availability ?

I talked to Skinz about it. If I remember right there was a few things that lead to the ARC 2. Cost.... Thought maybe it would open up to more people.

Apparently Burandt used the second setting 90% of the time and Adams the 3rd setting 90% of the time. So they thought a single setting was enough.

My concern is what if that single setting is too much or not enough. As a rider I know, I won't be able to look at something and know if I will need the 2nd or 3rd setting.

I may not need the 2 setting but I am going that way. I just don't want more options once I use it.

I only have two rides on my 3 position ARC but I don't even use the middle setting. On or Off. Works very well controlling the front end.

I will try out the middle setting on the trail tomorrow as mentioned above.

Thanks for the input guys. Makes me wonder if guys are coupled 90% of the time if the on/off is really necessary of if a Zbros KISS block for the money would be better? I like the idea of flipping it on/off in technical situations and the added dimension to riding it would add.

Sorry. I said it wrong. When they have the ARC engaged that's how they use it. Make sense?

So i bit the bullet and bought one......

First ride I'm pretty happy with it.
Set my suspension up playful and fun for messing around, push the lever and have ski control in the steepest of sidehills/ climbs. Its more coupling than i have ever had (or needed before the axys 163x3) the uptrack in deep mashed potatoes can be run at mach 6 and bounce right through 6' bombholes (from uncoupled sleds) and carry enough momentum to play on the upper portion of the hill they couldn't touch. :)

All in all an awesome mod for the fun/ comfort factor.

I was cranking my rear spring setting for every different snow condition before. Now steep gnarly's are just a thumb twitch away.

I think I figured out that you can't run both, but can you run the arc with the iceage rail braces. They run along the top of the rail and may come close to the small braces needed for mounting the arc
