I have an 05 rev with slp heads, team clutch, and a 162" track, and was looking at putting on a set of skidoo twins. I ride at 4500-8000'
Anyone have any advice? Good? bad?
Thanks for you time:confused:

If your talking about the factory race pipes save yourself some headaches and stay away. Their loud and finiky up high.
Talk to Mott's Machining about a set of Crank Shops, Tom seems to know the magic port timing to get them to run up high.
Personally I'd put all that money into a big bore instead, after the pipes and porting you'd need to get them to run for a couple hundred more you could have an 840 and it'll be more reliable.

I had the same sled,I wouldn't waste the $ i had buddies who did similar mods never made much diffrence, big problem is small area big heat. And the motor seams to be on the edge of destruction anyway..:face-icon-small-dis
The best option i found was a Bikeman pipe & can but even it wouldnt work until i vented everything to the max then it worked but funny thing buddies with many mods never accomplished much just more rope time which a rev doesent need....:o sorry just spent 2 years on that sled as did many of us seams mods just make the problem worse.:face-icon-small-dis

Anyone have any good luck with the pipes?
I can get a set for very little $
maby I should just go for a small shot of nos instead??

I have spent lots of time with the factory twins and the crankshop twins at high elevation. 8000-11000 feet. They are very loud and need repacking often. They increase the midrange snap and responsiveness dramastically but to be honest they dont work all that well for a long w.o.t. pull. Especially in the real deep stuff. I fought heat soak a lot with them. For hillclimb competition racing they are the $hit but long wot pulls in the powder not so much. Timing curves, compression, and porting make big differences with these as well. Just my experiences.

how would they run with the slp head??

The slp head works well with the twins. Definetly a step better than just using the stock head. Be careful with the slp head though. The squish is very tight on the high elevation head and at some elevations you will need to use some race fuel to prevent detonation. I also had problems with the o-rings on the slp head not staying put and leaking coolant into the cylinder. That was a few years ago and was probably just a fluke who knows.
