I have 05 skidoo summit 800, the sled had a hanging idle so i replaced the piliot jets with 20s instead of the stock 17.5. The hanging idle was fixed but now idles so low it wants to die, any help please

Should be a knob on top between the carbs. Turn it clockwise until idle is where you want it.

you either have a air leak or your throttle cable is to tight you shouldnt need to change your pilot jet try spraying water on your intake side while the sled is running and see if it dies or spudders if not its prob your cable

prolly would use starting fluid to check for a air leak not water

how many turn on the mixture screws from the factory, it didnt know if i should just try 19 pilot jet.

1 1/2 turns out from full in (until you first feel resistance) on the air mix screws.

Yea, use starter fluid not water, if the engine starts to rev when you spray it on the boots you've got a leak. While you are staring at your running engine with a can of starter fluid in your hand you may as well spray some in the PTO side crank seal, if the engine starts to rev then that's got a leak too and you should be looking at a lower end service before you blow your crank bearings.

If everything is the same (no idle screw adjustments) then having too low of an idle means you're now too rich (definitely NOT any air leaks!). And the white screws are FUEL screws, not air screws (a lot of misinfo in this thread). I've seen this many times - complaints of high idle so they go to bigger pilots and are now too rich because the problem was the correct pilots (17.5 - they come in sizes every 2.5 so good luck finding 19's) were probably just dirty. If the sled is stock you can usually get away with just turning out the fuel screws to lose the high idle (with CLEAN pilots). Now using Boyesen reeds are a different story (need richer pilots because they open quicker).
