Skidoo insurance

I have Liberty Mutual. You need to have your car insured with them for them to accept snowmobiles, but they are very reasonable. My 2008 XP 800 146" was just under $150 to insure and they were great to deal with on a claim.

Good luck, that quote seems really high though. You should be able to do better.

It's all gonna depend on your age, driving record, sled, credit, and a few other things. Some companies have good rates for certain people, but not so good for others. Alot of companies require you to have your auto with them too. I'm with Foremost, and pay about $200 a year for full coverage.

I have my 2008 Rev XP 163" insured with Safeco. $10,000 stated value policy with $300k in liability coverage for $296 a year. $250 deductible. They required either your auto or home insurance. I have had two claims with them in the last 4 years and were amazing to deal with. Safeco does not use credit and does not surcharge for minor violations on their sled insurance.

Allied Insurance. I have my business, rentals, home, airplane ect.... cost an additional $150.00 a year for my 2009 XP 146. My buddy in Nebraska is looking at paying $800 a year for some reason.

Sounds like a few have reasonable premiums.

Have you had to go through claim service with either of these companies with the lower permiums? Good/bad?

Thx!

MD.

Hey guys. I was told no one really "insured" sleds anymore. Is it just theft... or will they insure for total destruction, fire, cliff, truck roll etc....
I live in BC. As far as I know no one has insurance here. Maybe it's an ICBC thing.

I've got liberty mutual for only 100 a year. They insured my 05 RT1000 for 7500 when I totalled it last year. Not too bad. But I also insure my home and other vehicles through them.

Corex is right, not too many people insure things here. Last year my sled got jacked, and i had to eat that 10 or so grand i had invested in it. I shopped around when i bought my new sled, and ICBC wanted like 1700 for six months or something stupid like that. Wound up getting a polocy that was 450 base (theft/fire), or 700 (Full coverage, including replacement cost at 15000), for a year. Bit the bullet, decided if i flopped the truck with the sled in it, or something silly like that, id still be covered. Cant afford to lose this one too to some low life **** head!

If you guys from BC joined the bcsf you can get good replacement insurance from Capri but not quite as cheap as the yanks do .

I pay around $750 a year for my 08 XP full coverage. Seems rediculous to me since I pay $750 a year for my 2004 deisel truck. This will be the last season for full coverage though, I will just keep theft, fire and liabillity on it. Wouldn't be worth keeping full coverage on it for more than a few years since the depreciation is so bad May as well fix it on your own dollar or buy a new one. Can't buy insurance for sleds in northern BC cause theft of recreation vehicles is crazy up there. If your staying in chetwynd sleep in your truck.
