Skid plate or NOT

I have the Skinz Float plate on my Pro. So far, I'm really happy with it. I haven't noticed it holding more snow, but I do like the extra protection it does provide. I think they are worth having.

Here is my experience. Don't by a skid plate....hit every stump or rock! Put a skid plate on....have never hit anything. Crazy how that works out! I'd buy a skid plate for sure. It's worth the weight that you might add with snow pack. Good luck.

Just wait till ya hit something then decide...good idea / bad idea ?

Absolutely, I almost learned this the very expensive way. I got lucky and on the way home, I stopped at the dealership and bought a skid plate and had it mount as soon as the ice/snow melted off.

Definitely a good idea... good protection from unseen stumps or rocks, and also smooths out the bottom of the sled to help glide through the snow better.

Money well spent it's the first thing I put on a sled. The amount of weight it adds is well worth it for the protection.
