Ski Pressure and Steering

So just for a laugh I threw a bathroom scale under the center ski skeg on my kit. With the Timbersled ski it was 137 lbs pressure and with the Yeti ski it was 153. This is a POS scale so the numbers may be a bit off but point is the Yeti ski being taller at the skeg generates a fair bit more ski pressure than the TS. If you find yourself with a spare minute throw a scale under your ski and post up the results. Maybe we can get an idea of a target weight then we can adjust via limiter straps, dropping the forks in the triples and using the adjustable strut rod if you have one. Perhaps more ski pressure equates to better front end lift and less trenching in the pow, just thinking out loud here.

When you scale it are you lifting the back about the same amount as the scale is lifting the front? I get your just doing a comparison here, but to get proper numbers I'd assume keeping it level would be an important step.

No I haven't been but that's probably not a bad idea as it would even the playing field so to speak and compensate for different types of scales.
