Ski for hard/crusty snow?

I have a set of Slydog Powderhounds now and love the Ski on the trail and in the powder but when the snow melts and then freezes overnight they are like a death trap. The ski's want to twist out of you hands. Has anybody found a ski that does not do this (or is minor)? What about the Simmons or the 6.9's? I'm not opposed to having two sets of ski's and just switch them out towards the end of the winter.

Thanks for the thoughts!

I have the same ski's - I thought my steering linkage had broken first time I encountered the crusty stuff. My 600 had Simmons and I never experienced any problems with them, kinda bummed that I let the guy who bought it have the Simmons.
