Ski doo XM, who's got one/getting one?

Let's not turn this one into a pi$$in contest, just wondering who has got an XM or is getting one, T3's included, what you think if you have one (good and bad) and what sled you came off. I'm not looking for opinions from people that rode one for a few miles.

I bought a leftover 13 154 800 in Oct. and have over 1300 mi. with no problems. It came with a Felker clutch kit/belt and is the funnest stock sled I have ever rode, I have since added Fox Float III's and Gripper ski's with good results. I came off an 06 Summit X 151 800 with Timbersled/Ice Age Fox rear skid, boss seat and a few other goodies and the Rev is no comparison.

I picked up a 13 holdover 800 in February. Been riding an M7 for last 8 yrs. This XM is a blast and so easy to ride. I'm only 5'1 and have no problem rolling this sled around. The gas mileage is unbelievable and does not burn a ton of oil. I added an e-start and will put on an after market can so I can get a cooker back on it. Other than that it's staying stock!

Been riding a '14 all year! Made some changes to fit our riding style, and it took a solid week of riding it to get used to the chassis coming from a Pro, but absolutely love the sled now. Only time we look at the gauges is to make sure the hand warmers are on, pull and go and all smiles for over 1000 miles so far. We have also got the chance to throw our leg over the 174 T3 for about 150 miles this year so far, and it is a pretty sweet setup. For the average rider it is not going to feel any longer, and is going to be a great "crutch" for those learning to ride steeper and tighter trees. But when your stuck, you will notice the length haha, it digs a hole! Feel free to PM us any particulars you would like to know regarding either chassis.

Love my 14, bit pricey to buy but very cheap to run. Uses less fuel and oil unless it's a hard deep ride and has been totally pull and go. 1400 km and still on original belt. Only time the panels get opened are to get to the cooker and blow out clutch dust every few rides. Absolute chit eating grin every time I ride it. It goes everywhere I point it and responds almost effortlessly, many guys I ride with including some that are better riders cannot take their sleds where this will go in technical terrain. It also climbs good enough to keep me happy, I'm not much of a climber.

6 or 7 years on a number of M sleds, and then had a proclimb, switched to the XM last year, and very happy with it. If you're used to vertical steering, toss a post forward setup from Skinz on it & have fun.

Coming off a ported and piped m1000 2.5x.

2014 xm x. Over 1000km mountain miles. Average 20L per 80km. I'm primarily riding tough trees. Broke two hoods/ lights. Got a Mtn fit and led lights since and been fine. The trees don't slide up the hood like on an M. The XM air box and lights and intake and hood are all bolted together making for a rather rigid setup. The my fit is real smooth.

I basically putt-putt around my buddies, I'm not as tired at the end of the day. First thing I noticed was that it wasn't explosive on the pipe power, much smoother. This requires less energy to work the sled. BUT you have to be good at reading terrain ahead or the sled will make you work instead. I was Over correcting far too much. I'm used to it now.

Second thing I noticed was how simple it was to initiate a downhill to uphill turn, just step ahead into the foot pocket, shift weight and hold on. 2.5 track is awesome, no cut lugs.
Grip and rip braces have saved the framework twice. Bent two a arms in the exact same spot.

Bumpers are simply just ok, won't withstand much of an impact. Not sure what else I can say other than me wanting to order a 174.

I have a 13 xm 163, I love it and I am snow checking a 15 174 t3. I am not brand specific. I have had all and have fun on every sled I have ever been on. I think this next year it's the 174 t3 that is leading the market. If Polaris had done more (any) for 15 then maybe my choice would have been more difficult. For those that don't go on the ski doo side of the sight, this is what I had to say there for someone with ?'s:

Rode a 2014 Summit X 163 all season.....great sled, best sled I have ever owned.

Have Snow Checked a Summit 174 T3 for next season.

I rode a Xp 154" for the last few years with a flex track added this year and I actually liked it. Now I checked a '15 163" XM for next year and I'm hoping even though its a size up that it will be just as agile to ride. I guess I'll find out come winter!

Ran a turbo nytro modded fr head to toe for 2 years hopped on a buddies 13 xm for a hour or so well I have a 15 xm t3 163 o the way.

I went to the expo in West Yellowstone with no intention or interest in snow checking a sled. However I was impressed enough with the T3 that I checked it anyway. I'm keeping my 14 pro so I'll have plenty of opportunity to compare the two of them.

I came from a 153" Nytro MTX. Rode that for 2 1/2 years and did everything needed to get those to work. The weight was always kicking my but by the end of the day. Love the 4stroke! That being said I picked up a 13 154" X with 300 miles this fall and would never look back. I probably need a 163" since i am no little guy at 280# and 6'5". But I can go places I would have never got to on the Nytro even poaching somebody else's tracks. The power is great, easy on the fuel and oil. I know I am a better rider and feel younger at the end of the day.:face-icon-small-coo Would love to check a 163" T3 but not this year.

2 NEW SKI-DOO'S

Cant wait to get my 163 T3 and 156 T3.
I have been riding a 2014 154 ski-doo XM and love everything about it. I used to ride a hoped up 2010 ski-doo that runs just as good as my 14 XM but way more money and tinkering involved.

13 XM and a 14 assault, assualt is easier to ride multiple days in a row and much easier to keep a steep side hill line than the XM. Suspension also goes to the assualt but the big one is power and there is zero doubt the XM pulls much harder than the Polaris. Engine reliability goes to the XM but chassis reliability goes to the assault. If Ski Doo came out with a new chassis I would buy one without hesitation but let's face it the same crap S and E module design since 2008. Not to mention the bogus chain case and constant worry about belt issues. Here in AK the snow is much thicker and we ride at sea level so a stock sled pulls pretty hard. The average belt life with the QRS floated or with a team clutch is 300 miles.
