ski doo won't honor the 4yr warranty??

so if u snow checked a x model in the spring time and come winter u couldn't for whatever reason afford the sled, brp will only give a 1yr warranty to the person who picks up your snow checked machine,

i don't agree with this, i mean it's a new machine...why would anyone consider picking a x model that costs a thousand bucks more to get a 1yr warranty when u can get a sp w a 3 yr warranty for less money.

They need to make it worthwhile to buy in the spring.
If the incentives are the same in the fall, why would anyone buy in the spring?

if its a buddy of yours that wants it. maybe you could go in with him and you buy the sled with his $$$ and then sell it back to him title wise? then you get the 3 more yrs! Just an Idea? 3 yrs to go buy is like what $2000?

It is not just Doo, I wonder about the model of snow checking with all the brands. They truly penalize a guy $ for being FIRST to hold his money out and then benefit the guy that drags his feet with no commitment.

Yep, even told me if I didn't pay before Nov 1 I could still buy the sled but I would lose the warranty and my $500.

The warranty /yellow tag event says 3 year warranty for all Summits purchased before nov 30th. It mentions nothing about X's or spring orders.

It doesn't make any sense if someone backed out of an X I cannot get that same 3 year warranty. I was told about a possible X but told that I could not get the yellow tag 3 year warranty. So I bought a SP instead. They are both new summits before nov 30th.. makes no sense.

PS I'm new and had never heard of spring order or pre-order on anything before so had no idea. ( Never done that for a Motorcycle or car. )

the x is a snowcheck only sled, but many dealers buy them to sell inseason. brp is obviously trying to discourage this practice. the way they are looking at it is there should be none for sale because they were all prepurchased. if you want the yellow tag warranty buy an sp and take the money you saved and upgrade the shocks and change the bars. now you've got a better sled because the x shocks aren't much better than the ones on the sp.
