Ski-Doo Summit 800 Adrenaline, 2006

My brother-in-law has 2006 Adrenaline 800 that is having troubles, I believe with the Dess Switch (safety kill switch).

We went on road ride up Guardsman Pass Saturday morning and it was riding good until we got to the summit. Then the front lights stopped working and the RPMs wouldn't go over 2500. As you hit the gas it seemed like it was flooded (bogging down). However if you played with the Dess cap it would work just a little bit better, but not enough to work properly.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Is it beeping at all?? If the DESS is loose it will usually beep at you. Doesn't mean its still not bad though.

If you have access to another REV you could swap MPEM and DESS just as a checker.
You could have a faulty MPEM or there could be some corrosion in the connection. That is a common reported problem. The connection the the MPEM gets moisture and corrosion in it and can cause those types of issues.

That's a place to start hopefully. With the lights and stuff being involved you could possibly have a stator that is acting up.

Those are just my thoughts............I am sure some one more knowledgeable than me can hopefully chime in and add more. Sorry.:beer;

I do have another sled, and can't believe I didn't try the other cap. I will try it out today, however if it is the Stator, that is way over my mechanical skills. Who is the best person to take this sled for repair in the Salt Lake Valley?
