Ski Doo Pri-clutch springs

Went to dealer today to get clutch parts and the new pri-spring they gave me is not the same as the old one said it had been updated. The old one is black with green and purple dots and the new one is black with blue and purple dots and is a 1/2 shorter. Will the new spring work should I use the old one. This is on a 2007 800 151

New spring works fine with stock clutching and has a higher finish rate (160/290 vs. 160/260) which helps maintain rpm's under load (when climbing for instance). Adjust pin weight to get 8400 rpm's in clicker 4 (stock ramps are too shallow for that motor so need to clicker up).

I put the updated spring in mine that you mentioned and sled holds consistant rpms when climbing in the deep stuff unlike before

Green/Purple is: 200/320
Blue/Purple is: 130/320

That's fine and all but the color codes are backwards from what you state for the stock springs. The original spring was purple/green = 160/260 and the updated spring is purple/blue = 160/290.

You're right in what you're saying. I'm just going by the way hounddog stated it.
The old one is black with green and purple dots and the new one is black with blue and purple dots and is a 1/2 shorter.

I guess what we really need to know here is how the spring is sitting on the table when he's looking at the colors (are the dots at the top or bottom of the spring when he's looking at it?).

Happy sledding! :beer;

They were at the top and now I know they should be at the bottom. Will I need to pull some pin weight to make this spring work?

Nope, should be fine. Stock tachs read about 100 rpm's low so just make sure you hit around 8400 and adjust clickers or pinweight as needed.

Have FUN!
