Ski-doo fuel regulator issue

So I just spent the first 45 miles chasing my tail working on my BRAND new 2015 Summit XM turbo.

Working with Justin @ Silber turbos and Chris @ Dobeck Performance we pretty much were all going nuts trying to figure this thing out thinking It had some sort of electrical demons. Chased all sorts of stuff and it was good. Checked the fuel pressure. 7psi and dropping under load. NOT GOOD. Figured it had a bad fuel pump but didn't want to go to the dealer and get dicked around with it being turbo'd.

Tore the pump assembly out of the tank and found this.:face-icon-small-con

The regulator pegs bent out of the way and allowed the regulator to almost fall out bypassing the fuel instead of creating pressure. pulled the screws out and put washers under them to help hold the regulator in.

BRAAAAAAAAAAPSHT. All is well now.

Just trying to let guys know if they have some super weird problem with it not having fuel under boost at all, check this, seems like NA it will run fairly well with almost no fuel pressure but boost really shows it off.

Happy Boosting

Good Catch. I suppose as long as the flow was there to the etec injectors they build there own pressure so they work. But obviously the extra injectors in the silber kit need pressure behind them. Looks like your fuel pump may have been built by a temp or on a friday. . . . OOOPS.

no, the plastic pegs can flex and push the regulator out resulting in what happened.

Im half tempted to cut a little aluminum ring that goes around and is screwed into the posts to keep them from flexing away over time still. I don't think it would be an issue, but I really have no desire to find out in the backcountry that the pegs flexed more and snapped off.

O I thought it appeared as though the reg was just not seated all the way when assembled and this was the result. Pegs flexing out is not a good deal.

had something similar when installing a cpc turbo kit in a 10 m8 except it was self inflicted I pinched the rubber o ring setting the rivets for the new fpr fuel pressure was low and could see fuel moving in the tank probably won't see the fuel bubbling in the tank in the xm as the way its designed but maybe something to look for as well

My sled is doing crazy things as well. Haven't had any luck finding the problem. Just tried what you/ silber boys talked about here and nothing wrong. Did you notice any lag from a stop? I have lag from a stop and top end leans out. Replaced the controller and wiring harness, no change. Also I get a check engine light and backfires, if I ride it with the programming James told me all e-teks are running. Light goes off when I bring RPM to idle. Comes on not long after riding with engine at operating temp.

hopefully after i get things torn down and tested this eve it seems like if you have a hard backfire or pop it will blow the check valves out of the rave system and bottom end gets horrible.

I will report back with more info. my issue is in the stock sled right now as mine does weird stuff as i start it and try to rev it up. and in turn makes it run like crap on the bottom end, but its all before the controller does anything or adds any fuel.
