Debating on the bikeman or silber Tunes ,, what do i need to download these tunes ,, do i need to have a lap top for each of these. any any input on the Silber tunes would be appreciated .. plan on the 30 HP tune

No you don’t NEED a laptop. You can take your sled into a dealer/rep for the respective tune and they can do it. However if you want to make tune changes often you will want one. I have 600+ miles on Sliber stage 3. No issues.

We have multiple tuned factory turbos in our group. All the different tunes seem to work well and run very similar as well. None have had issues. One sled does over oil but the same tune from same company on another sled does not have that problem so must be a sled specific issue.

I will say that the tuning companies clutching can be improved. The sleds in our group that have clutching not matching the tune company definitely run better.

I have my silber tune paired with Ibackshift clutching. Really like it over the silber clutch setup. Ride 9000- 11500. Multiple miles on multiple clutch setups.

I tried to use my cell phone to down load the bikeman tunes last year, didn’t work. I know both silber and bikeman have said in the past they will have an app to use your cell phone, maybe check with them. Also look at Ibexx, they have a new tuner out that flashes your sled with a hand held tuner, no computer needed.

This is from Ibexx site..
Take your 850 Turbo E-tec to the next level. This is the only tuner on the market that you can adjust while on the mountain with no internet.
Additional licenses can be purchased here: http://ibexx.com/product/goat-tuner-licenses/

I’ve been looking into the maptuner, couldn’t figure out from the website if it needed a laptop and internet or not. Thanks

Curious, it is my understanding that the stock turbo does not contribute at sea level but comes on as elevation increases to maintain sea level power at altitude. I assume the the aftermarket tunes increase HP at ALL altitudes including sea level. Is that a fair assumption and, if so, do they maintain the same HP at sea level as at 10,000 ft like the stock or is it less at 10,000 than the boosted power at SL?.

First time you use maptuner you need to connect to a laptop and download the tunes you have bought. After this initial steps you don't need a laptop to change from stock, stage1 and stage 2. You always need a 12V source to do any change in maptune.

Just to be clear, you down load all the map tuner tunes for your sled into the map tuner box and they are stored in the box? Correct?
