Ski alignment instructions

The way I do it is, I first make sure my track alignment is right. Then I lay I long piece of angle iron along the track and up past the skis. Next I make sure the handle bars are straight. Then I measure from the angle iron over to the rear of the ski ( i go off the bolts that stick through for the carbides, the farthest back and farthest forward). I remeber that measurement, then measure the front. Then just adjust the tie rods to the proper measurement. I like to set them with an 1/8 inch toe out on both sides.

Thanks. For some reason I thought I had to do something with the adjustment betwen the steering post and piece that ties the two sides together.

What corncrackerjimmy said is an excellent way to make sure you are aligned. I like to also check the drag link ( aluminum bar in the bulkhead that connects the two tie rods with the rod that goes to the bottom of the steering post ) and make sure that it is centered when your handle bars are straight. If it is not centered and you adjust the tie rods to get your skis aligned you can end up not being able to turn as far as you should one way or the other. You may have to take off your exhaust pipe so you can see the drag link well enough. You adjust it by pulling the center pan and adjusting the link from it to the steering post. Hope this helps.
