Sinister X5 or Aviator

Need a new pair of goggles for my Fly F2 Carbon. Either getting new X5s or Aviators. Which one do you guys like better? Which has upper hand on field of view? Both look very good.

Both have a great field of view to them, pretty close to the same now. I have both and ride with both and the new X5's are hard to beat.

I am running the X5's with my F2. Love them. Never tried the Aviator's, but heard they are way easy to change lenses.

This is what I was told. If you helmet size is XL of larger the 5x is your baby. Under XL your choice. The sinister fits the larger face better and I love mine.

If you could only choose one which would you go with?

If your the type of rider who changes lenses through out the day the aviator might be a bit easier to change lenses on while out riding. I have a 3XL KLIM Helmet and both goggles fit the size of that just fine. I don't change lenses while out riding I carry 3 pairs of goggles with me most days so that feature is not as important to me. I'll be honest my go-to goggle is my aviators with the yellow lens. I bet I ride with those 80% of my season. I think it has more to do with the color of the lens then the goggle frame but that's hard to say as I only have had the X5's for a month now. I did get the X5's with the polarized yellow lens to try out but have not had much time with them yet.

I'd say if you are only getting one pair now go with the aviators and maybe pick-up a pair of X5's down the line in another color. I don't think you will be disappointed in them.

I bought a set of X5s just recently but have not gone riding with them yet due to lack of snow, but they definitely fit my face and helmet better than either the old sinisters or the aviators. Great field of vision too!! I had used both of the other goggles previously and had fogging issues pretty bad. I wear a Suomy helmet. Pretty good seal around the sides and top using the X5s in this helmet too.

Cheers!!

No questions asked, the aviator is a larger frame and does not have outriggers on the frame so it needs a larger helmet to be able to sit down into and seal to the face. You messaged me and mentioned that you have a Size Medium FlyF2, so I would 100% point you in the direction of wanting the X5's. They flat out fit better into the smaller helmets.

what about a large helmet are the aviators still tight.

As the shop owner, I personally wear a Large Carbon C2 509 with Aviators and it works well for me. And even some people with longer heads seem to be able to rock aviators with size medium helmets, but most find that they are too small to fit the aviator. I would give a thumbs up for using the aviators with a size large lid.

Sorry.
The x5 is not for tree riders. They are the worst fogging goggle I have ever owned!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And then some!!!!!!!!!
Now 3 people in my riding group have and HATE the x5!
I think they would be 'ok' for people who ride fast and get A LOT of air moving around the goggle.
I called 509 and asked if they had a problem with their lenses. They insisted the problem was my helmet! Lol
I was told for x5's to work right that I had to buy their 509 helmet and had to use the breath box.
Thats funny cause My buddy has the 509 helmet with the breath box and x5's........ guess what...... they fog like crazy too! Lol.

So. I can wear Smith, Scott, and the older Sinister without major fogging but I cannot keep the fog out of the X5's. And that is my helmets fault. Lol.
