Single sled deck or trailer?

I've got an 04 Dodge 1500 and I'm considering either a single sled deck or a trailer to haul an m8 162. I'm leaning towards the single sled deck but I was wondering what you guys think?

Along with a recommendation either way I'd also like some advice on manufacturers or what to look for.

Thanks!

if you HAD to have a "deck" for one sled i would do a single loader for the back of the truck, hands down

the "so low" deck looks awesome, i have no personal experience with it tho

there isnt a two up trailer in this world that can replace having the sled on the truck

Yeah that was the type of deck I was looking at. Do you not think a deck is necessary for one sled?

My single place sled deck is one of the best things I've ever bought for sledding. Can load by yourself, can still tow a trailer, doesn't F-up your tailgate, can haul long track in short box without F-ing up tailgate, etc. Can load without lifting in the spring when there's not a snowbank in sight.

ya single deck is the way to go. i had teething issues with mine but now that it works, it works awesome. mine requires you to take the the tailgate off which means no wrecked or chipped tailgate from rocks when having it down. can go anywhere take the loader off and have my tailgate back on in 5 min.

In my opinion a trailer is a better bet. For the same price....it can serve a dual purpose. Use it all summer for anything else. Also just requires the drop of a jack and it is off your truck. Easy to move around. Not having to find help to get it off the truck or move it around the yard. I can see where a deck would be nice for lond trips, icy roads. etc. But for the most part I think a small trailer is much less of a pain in the butt.

After getting a deck this year I disagree. The deck is so much easier. I always store my sled in the garage so I would have to unload it then back the trailer up and unhook it then hook it up next time and load up. Not to mention having to have a place to park the trailer. Now I back right up to the garage load up, come home back up and unload takes me 30 seconds each way. Personally if I was going to spend the money on a deck tho I would just do a 2 place. Plenty of people have put 2 places on a half ton, just need heavier springs or do air bags but it is so worth it.
