Alright thank you for the info. Ya the 42 seems to be about the max. But there is a picture floating around of the 19 42 set up and there is a bit of slack in the chain. Im wondering on the case clearance too. I read that a little grinding on the tensioner and some carefull instalation technique and the 43 will go. Thanks for help.

It may have been on a PM from you, I swapped in 19/42 gears without issue.

Ok, 19/ 43 will go on, with the stock 76 chain. It is snug and we needed 4 hands to do it. This is not a new chain either but its not wore out at all. I think the chain is too tight. No tensioner on with about 1/4 inch of lash or less. We went fishing which involved a 1 hour ride. I rode it for about 20 mins. Feels good to me. I suggested we open the case again to see if it loosened up a bit. Is it going cook the drive/jack shaft bearings? I realize it might not extend the life of them but?? Any way long story short 19/43 will go on with a 76 chain. Is there a reason why a 78 will not work perfect or is it just to long?

Cheers.

Slash, not sure what you had to grind but this one had enough room all around. Like I said it just seems to tight for me. Ill let you all know how it looks when we open her back up.
