Simple fix for that oil mess

I got tired of the oil piling up under my motor, so i just took one of these "chubby" bottles poked a couple holes into the top so it could breath and stuck the hose in to the bottle then zip tied it on... works great.

Its about 3-4 inches away from the pipe so not worried about it melting but put heat tape on the pipe side anyways becasue i had it laying around, I replace it every couple rides with a new bottle. no more oil mess under motor!

sweet !
thanks i think thats way better than sending it out side the sled with pluging and iceing up etc.

It'll work good until you roll it over. To get unstuck. I rotted the fitting 90 degrees and ran a longer hose over and down the right side and drilled a hole to exit between the exh deflector and the can outlet. So far so good.

I just ran the hose down and under the motor and over by the chain case. From there you can open the panel and wipe it out easily if needed.

Ive rolled it, it dosent go every were becasue it more splatters verse pooling up. you just put a few tiny holes in it so it can breath.

I did the same thing, with an elbow on the end of the hose so it sticks out below the bellypan. No mess, and the end has never frozen over, because of the heat from the exhaust which is a few inches in front of the chain case opening, where I poked it out to the outside.

I dont have my 2012 Pro Rmk with me as i store it in my brothers garage. May i ask what size hose this is? Thought i would pick someones brain before i go over and measure it myself.

this is exactly how I ran mine. I fits really nice there.

WTF? $11,000 and you need to Macgyver something! Where is the oil coming from? I just bought a 2011 Pro, haven't noticed any oil geyser yet. :face-icon-small-fro

It's not a geyser persay. It's more a really slow drip of black sludge that comes out of the ves solenoid that over time makes a big mess.

Polaris needs to hang there head in shame on this one, they should have had a small catch tank or route it to a better location. Some times I wonder about the design team.

Can someone post a picture of where you are running it past the pipe and such to get to the clutch side and where you are dumping it out on that side?

4 1/2 feet?? Dang it- I picked up 4 feet yesterday!!

You can get by with 4 feet, but 4 1/2 makes it a little easier.
