Simmon's Ski's

Just Got Back From West Yellowstone And Bought A Pair Of The Simmon's Ski's (the Big Wide Ones). I Ride A Nitro And Phazer. For Those Of You Who Have The Simmon's How Will I Like Them In The Various Snow Conditions? Will It Make The Phazer More Stable For The Wife? Pro's And Con's.

guy from the shop loves them. he said that he can controll and manuever the sled alot better than befor and it doesnt dart around like he said it used to. on his supercharged nytro he has the stock skis on it

I have Gen 2 skis on a TRX-1. Just got back from Cooke City and loved them. I had better flotation than the twelve other sleds I was riding with. XP's, CMX with simmions gen 1, polaris w/gen 1.
The sled also handled better on the groomed trail with the Gen 2. A little stiffer on the bars but well worth the extra effort. Very happy with the purchase!:D

ditto what pastor sez

My riding buddies call them Burtons. They are the same width as a snowboard!! As far as performance, they do a great job of keeping the heavier yamaha sleds on top. They work pretty good in most conditions.
One area they work great in is, When coming down a super rutted out trench filled chute you don't worry about losing a ski in the trench. Compared to stock - much better!!cr

My friend has a pair on his mountain max. I have ridden his machine, and it doesn't dart as much as mine on the trail. Personally, I didnt notice any difference in powder. The only con I can think of is that you have to pay for them. I am considering getting a pair myself.

I have got over 2000 miles on my set, and have enjoyed them for the most part. The only time I dislike them, is in setup, or somewhat setup snow, and trying to hold a sidehill, or spin it around on its side. The ski's make the stance quite wide, and it runs up on the sharp outer edge. It wants to go all the way over, or lay back down. I am going to try and trim the back half of the outer edge to see if it helps. But I have been saying that all season.......

Huge gain over the stock ski's.

I think we will run the standard Simmons on the Nytro next season.

Plus, Val and Verlin are great guys. Dont mind spending money with good folks.

anyone try narrowing up the ski's all the way in?i'm just searching and no mention of this i'm putting my gen 2's on tommorrow thinking might be idea!

I bent the crap out of one.. And that really messes with the handling.. But it on the website it says I can put them in hot water and they will regain there shape, anyone try this?? The only real con I have is they pack a lot of snow on them.. Seems like every time I look down there is a pile of snow on the skies..

They are the BEST money I have spent on the Apex, work great in all conditions. Get the 6" carbides. I just put a set on my wifes RMK 700, that thing is now amazing, its like she can't get stuck. She can now creep around on top of powder at stupid slow speeds. I was stuck in loose powder yesterday and she rides up and stops next to me,then just starts slow and off she goes... Kind of pisses me off....lol....

Heck I wish they made a 15" wide.......:eek::eek:
