Simmons skis question

I was changing out from what I have left of my carbides, and noticed they always got worn out in the front half REALLY REALLY fast.

When putting on the new ones, I noticed that they have more carbide on the part that protrudes from the bolt more, I usually put that long end to the back though...

My question is....

Which way are they supposed to go on?? Long side forward. or backwards??

I've been putting the short towards the front---but I also grind down the front edge of the carbide to reduce a hang-up situation.

think i might go back to stock skis
where we ride lots of cattle guards and those simmons hang up terrible on those things.
worrys you when your goin about 50 over em

When I'm about to hit something which might hang up I preload the front suspension with the brake and jump over---haven't had the hang up problem after I learned to grind the carbides.
