Anyone ever tried these before? What did you think of them?

They are heavy as all hell, I know that much .... is the addition of that much unsprung weight worth the added flotation?

If your in powder that you ride through instead of on top of, then yes, If you ride a 07 m1000 they work awesome. 09 m1000 or any m8 they are more than what is needed.

I just ordered a pair for my 09' M8 ...

I guess if I don't like them I'll swap them for the PP's on my 900 RMK and let the tank have the Gen II's ;)

I have been running them on my 05 m7 bb since they came out and even though they are heavy, I wouldn't give them up. I also run a 174 track and with the bigger footprint of track lenght and ski's, I float considerably higher that everyone I ride with. I just sit higher when stoped in every snow condition and in the bottomless fluff where everyone is getting stuck on even the downhill and sinking to their armpits when they step off their sled, I have absolutely no problem. They have other benefits like on those fluff days you can step off your sled onto the ski for a place to do your business when nature calls and if you break down and have to walk out, you can strap them to your feet and use them as snow shoes. :)

You will like them better than stock, only time you wont is when the snow is a little stiff.

LOL

They are great on tight tree trails to as every one elses sled is smaller the Gen II's just follow. and are sweet at staying out of tree wells.

I ran them on my 07 m1000 until spring and then changed back to the stock skies when the snow firmed up. they work great in the soft snow front end does not dive. only complaint was the incresed steering effert. this year I bought 2010 m8 and am running the gen 2 on it dident like how hard it was to steer so I drilled new holes in the skies and moved the mountig brackets back 2 " now I have power steering, wish I had made this modifacation several yers ago. yes it does wash out a little more in corners on a packed trail but Im not worn out at the end of the day.

Truthfully, they actually boondock in the tight trees better because you aren't sinking into the snow and floating on top. My buddies get so pizzed when were boondocking and I just float right over trees and stumps that they keep hooking.

If you use your spacers so that the skies are set to the inside, you aren't as wide as the widened sno pro ski stance is.

I have them on a m1000 and i really like them alot front end never dives and is always on top of the snow! They do suck on spring rock hard snow but who likes riding in that anyway!

I had been running them on my 07 M1000 since I bought it (came with them on). Just went riding yesterday and swapped out for the stock ski's just to feel the difference. The stock ski's track like sh*t on the trail, the gen II's are a huge difference.

As for in the deep powder, I like how it is easier to pull the sled over with the stockers, but the trade-off is burying the front end of the sled more. The gen II's float WAY better but it seems like it takes more effort to carve with the sled. Maybe I'm in need of a riser for the handlebars?

Just got em on .... don't know if we'll find any fresh tomorrow, but I have them set all the way to the inside. We'll see how they do :)
