Simmons Gen III on Proclimb?

Has anyone taken the time to try Simmons Gen III skis on their Proclimb? They are the intermediate width skis. Wider than Gen I skis and narrower than the Gen II clown shoes.

I have a pair from another sled and I thought I might give them a try. If I do, I will have to buy some Simmons skis mounts, that's why I am asking first.

I currently have Polaris grippers on the sled.

interested in how you like them if you try them. everyone hates simmons these days it seems. and i know why, but still always loved them in the powder. the stock '16-17 skis dont float that great for how big they are, something with a little concave bottom im thinking would be better.
im the type who has two sets usually, one for powder, other for the spring- usually the stockers.

No experience on the pro climb but in my nytro I used to ride I had both and there is no comparison. The Gripper has better bite in every situation and floats well also.

Thanks for the input guys. I have the skis now to try on a Yamaha Apex MTX that still has the stock Yamaha mountain skis on it currently.

I have just had a bit of trouble adapting to the ease of getting my Proclimb up on edge. I was thinking that the Simmons skis with my 2016 36" front end set in the narrow position might help keep me from tipping over as frequently.

However, the $80 for the Simmons ski mounts has me rethinking the idea.

I hear ya. I find that I am on the middle of the sled instead of being on one side or the other in most situations and that keeps me from oversteering it. It takes some time to learn to trust how easy that front end makes riding. I'm still having to adjust even after quite a few rides.

I have a set from 2012 hanging on my garage wall. The Gen 3s are made for the heavy 4 strokes, they steer like a mofo on the 2 stroke when I tried them. Very uncomfortable unless you like shooting the trails then you will need Hulk arms to steer it. Keep your grippers on there the best ski for the 2 smoker Proclimbs. I tried the Gen3s here in Michigan for a season and lost my need for them. Way too much bite.

That's what I was looking for! Someone who has actually tried them on a two stroke. Thank you nosajlleb.

I will just wait and give them a try on my Apex MTX. They might be just the ticket!

They suck bad!

Worst ski I've tried on the pc.

Hard as hell to turn on one ski.

If your having balance issues you can do a few things.

1. Move ski stance out (I don't recommend, with grippers I go in as far as possible)
2. Increase rear shock pressure, will stay more planted.
3. Run the rear shock clicker in about 20-22 clicks, it will slow doorman how fast it flops. Then adjust pressie on rear shock until you like it.

With just the adjustments on the rear shock you can go from extremely floppy to planted.
Grippers are best, no way around that!

Keep your bars as low as possible.

Thanks WyoBoy1000, OK, I don't have the fancy new shocks, just Float 3s, what pressure do you suggest?

So, you want me to put my skis back in to the narrow position and lower my bars, OK, I will give it a try.

Float 3

Front skid, 5/8 " pre load
Rear 140-150. (When riding, after a few miles, get off and walk to the back on flat ground, lift up on the rear bumper, it should come up .5-1.5" for most people)

Front 55-70, if you have a really light can I usually run 5-10lbs less on can side
