Simmons Gen 2 darting....what combo works?

I have an Apex with the Gen2 version toed out maybe a 1/16" and the factory carbides and wear bars. On soft stuff it's great but on hard iced trails it darts really bad......what combination works best to stop the darting? I've read Bergstrom 6" triple points on the inside and factory carbides on the outside then I read running them new "dartless" add ons will help....what do you guys run to stop the darting on hard surfaces?

Honestly the skis you have shouldnt dart like that. If you say it is darting badly than I would try and exaggerate the toe out and try again. Im not doubting you but this is classic toe in symptoms. Try and set a 10' straight edge along the track and set each ski to 1/8" out EACH,(1/4 total) dont move straight edge to other side just keep it on one side and make sure it doesnt move.

gen II's darting

go at least 1/4" or even a 1/2" toe out. also if there is any wear in your steering, use a long bungee, loop to loop, to gently pull the ski tips towards each other to take out any slack. then adjust. if gen II's are adjusted properly i don't think it's possible for them to dart.

I'm having the same problem on my '05 Vector. I'm going to toe out a little more and replace the last steering bushing over by the chaincase that hasn't been replaced yet. Once the steering is as tight as new I figured the darting should be gone.

Something is wrong and it is not the ski design. Simmons by design just do not dart. I have never had a darting problem with the Simmons skis. I agree with the others that it must be in your alignment.

set my apex to 0 toe! straight up. if the front end is sloppy gently pull the tips together and set as near to 0 as possible out maybe a 1/16 max no toe in.drives like a bullet now...
