Simcoes via Satus Pass

I think (without looking at my Gazetter so I may be wrong) you would be crossing the Yakama Rez to do it. I believe that area is closed to non-tribal members. You might get a pretty cold reception should the wrong people find you. :(

EDIT - Just read the other thread you put in. I guess if the tribal members were up there then maybe it's cool? I looked at riding my dirtbike in the area but was put off by the rez closures.

My brother used to drive log truck inside the Res. He got to know some locals that snowmobiled and heard a few stories.

Basically, It's not legal to ride on the Res.; they do patrol on sleds, but they are very old sleds and can't go many of the places the newer ones can.

Some sneak into the Res from the West, coming from the Mt. Adams area...That's about all he had to say.....

Anyone familiar with the area? I do know there is a park there open year round:

and potential access closer to the top of the pass via Ski Lodge Road (used to be a ski area). Thanks in advance for any info.

Have property right across hwy 97 from snow park the area is not groomed and is mostly used by locals but there is riding, not much for steep hills lots of open medows. You would head west from snow park and follow road that goes along the boader of the res we have never had any issue with the res. There is alot of timber company (WPT) land that you can ride. If follow the boader road up to the lake beds there is a great veiw of most of the cascade mountains.
