The other option is the snowmobile specific class in Silverton on December 13-15. Silverton is the avalanche capital of Colorado and the terrain we ride in is top notch for learning about avalanches. You need to be at least an intermediate rider for the Silverton class. Most of the access is on trails, but we also go off trail at high elevation. Many of the trails are single track with some good elevation gain. You can ride your snowmobile in town and leave your car parked for your entire stay. Always a great time and an excellent learning experience.
