Has anyone ridden this area? Friend of mine was talking about it saying just north of town there an area to go. Any maps or exact drop off place would be helpfull.

there are a few areas around silverthorne, do you mean N of town then east, or N of town then west?
About 10mi north, on the west side (8mi up) is Spring Creek. (aka Mt. Limon)
There really isn't any riding directly out of Silverthorne anymore.

if you go NORTH from town, you can then ride places to the EAST (ute, williams fork area) or WEST (spring creek, trough road area), north of silverthorne is hwy 6, it goes for a ways, you'll need to turn right(east) or left(west) in order to ride unless you want to ride behind kremmling?! East of town is a place called denver (couple mtns before that though).
snow has been really baked this week, very warm temps, but we're getting hammered right now, not much total here in frisco where I am at the moment, but looks strong up high. Hopefully it'll build a bit.
probably be soft with nasty crust under about a foot or so depending on how high you go & what aspect you're riding (maybe work on those compass directions in the meantime btw
)I have heard that getting back into Spring Creek is a beeaaach unless there's ample snow. Lot's of woooops for about 5 mi. Let us know how it is if you do go.

We didn't go. Didn't think the snow conditions were worth it. Maybe Saturday
