Silber turbo

Hey Justin,

2009 Polaris Assault 800 with 2010 update.

Fuel control box settings:

-green 1.5
-yellow 5.0
-red 4.0
-green/blue 2.0
-yellow/blue 4.0
-red/blue 2.5

Elevation is lowest at 6000 highest is around 10,000 feet or above there by a little bit.

It doesnt matter if I let it idle or if im riding it always has a bad lag on the bottom end at low levels of speed. My friend has a boondocker kit and his is alot more responsive on the bottom end then mine does. Just seems like it has tons of turbo lag on the bottom end compared to the boondocker kit. He also has an intercooler on his kit and we are both running the same boost levels at seven pounds.

does this look odd to anybody else?

Yes it does, had a similar problem and actually had my yellow setting at 5 to.

The sled would run like crap on the bottom end.

Adjusted it down to the base settings on silbers page and now it runs fine.

Base settings:

Turbo Tuning Polaris CFI
Polaris Turbo Attitude Fuel Control Box Base Settings

Green 4

Yellow 2

Red 2

Green Blue 6

Yellow Blue 4.5

Red Blue 5.5

looks like some of the other settings is pretty far from the base settings...

Thanks guys. Ill try those settings this weekened and see how it runs. I wasn't trying to bash on Justin or his kits at all im just trying to figure out what was going on with my sled and to see if other people had the same problem and how they fixed it. Thanks everyone for your input.

The sled ran strong on the top end. Couldnt ask for anymore on that part. It pulls hard and wants to wheelie all over. Im still having current problems with the bottom end. It seems like when the motor is cooled down the bottom end is good but after riding for a bit the bottom end progressivly gets worse. Could it be cause I have a intercooler and its lag time? The sled hasnt gone above seven pounds since ive installed the kit. Any ideas? Im more then open to any suggestions please. Thanks a bunch.

I hope you find the problem. I have had the same exact problem all year long, i have tried fueling, clutching and sent the control box in for reprogramming, the programming helped a little bit but the problem is still there. I have just tried to learn to live with it, but it is fustrating. please let me know what the fix is when u find it.

Troubleshooting.

Racer999, just a few questions.

- Did you notice any difference from before after adjusting the attitude box?

- Your low end problem, is it like a bad turbo lag...or does it misfire and act up?

- Are you not able to get over 7lbs of boost, or have you not tried going higher?

- What fuel are you running?

After putting in the numbers that you gave me when the sled hits boost its amazing. The sled has not ran that good since ive put the kit in. I havent tried above seven pounds cause im kind afraid to. If the motor blew that would mess my season all up since every weekened I have is with film crews so I have alot on the line with that sled. As for fuel i've ran straight 111, 50/50 mix and straight 91 pump gas. The bog acts like when a motor runs rich. I have to punch it full throttle for 3-5 seconds before the sled even moves. Like I said before top end is awesome I just am trying to figure the bottom end. Any suggestions would really help me. Thanks a bunch.

mine does the same thing. i changed primary springs to raise engagement a little with a little lower finish rate to run lighter weight and it helped.. a little. i didnt make a drastic change with the spring but i would like to try the 180-330 spring. i have talked with someone that thinks possibly the secondary is the issue with this setup. im not a clutching guy so all i can do is try parts. kinzer in a post said something about a carls turbo helix i wouldnt mind trying. the snows all gone here my season is over too soon so i will just buy parts to try next year. im confident in the kit i have ran the boost all the way up to 13lbs and it is awesome as long as your not taking off from a stop

We just got over a foot in a half just today. The snow is gonna be here for along time. If there is anything that you guys or gals think that would help let me know. Im more then willing to try things on this kit and post how it works. Thanks for everything. Travis Wyss #999

Try even lower fuel pressure like 35-32 psi. And see if that helps. If it does help, it means you have too much fuel on the very bottom before the box even kicks in. To help this problem, you can put your air temp sensor in a warmer area. Also Turn the ethanol switch off, This will lean your fuel map out too.
This sounds like your problem to me because the longer you ride it the worse it gets(warmer charge temps= richer mixture) and when you cool it down it gets better

At low boost (7 PSI and under) I think the race fuel, weather it be straight or mixed may be part of your problem. It will be way slugish on the bottom and you won't really notice on top. Higher octane fuel burns slower and cooler so not as snappy. Just a thought:face-icon-small-dis
