silber oil cap

hey guys i am having some seriously bad luck with my oil cap leaking oil all over the place. is there a fix for this? does the tank even actually need to be vented? any help would be great!

Blair

What year kit do you have? Depending on the year I have been told that some do NEED to be vented. Call Justin or Corey at next level...

I have a 2012 sibler turbo on my 2012 pro. and i was just wondering if the kit needs to be vented or if i can block the cap off. the smell and topping up the oil alone is enough of problem. i dont want to melt her down if it really does need to be vented.

If you block the vent the return line will not work properly. Send me a PM and I will go over options with you

Do you have the check ball style cap? What are your options? I have a 12 pro & kit but havn't riden it yet. I was told its not a problem with the check ball style cap but keep hearing about issues. Think I will be using an oring to seal the cap to tank.

thewayout,

i have the check ball style. i have also put an o-ring in the cap to seal it. i even put an oring between the alumnium checkball thing and the plastic cap. i would not ride with out putting both orings in the two different places i have saved half the oil consumtion. i had no luck with the cap the way it came. i wheelie all day long and i went through 1L a ride, it is getting old fast. i was just hoping there was an update or somethig for this style of cap. me and my brother have two 2012 silber kits and both caps leak the same. now the reasond i am asking about not venting my tank is my friend has an attitude industries turbo kit, it looks identical in alot of ways. its the same turbo same looking pipe ( not as nice and clean as silber kit) and his oil tank is not vented. he has over 800 miles of trouble free boost.

You can do what some have done get a brass fitting with a small barb on one end, then use tubing and make a few circles and then run it our of the sled, with the tubing up high it vents and no less. And with the circles if you roll it, it won't spill all over

This is what I am doing this year. I also went one step further and purchased a check valve (low flow with a .5psi cracking value) to further help stop the oily mess.

I had the check ball style cap. It made a huge mess. Rediculous! I will post how this works once I get some miles on it.

sam eissue on my 2012 silber kit. updated cap and all.. so i installed a barb fitting where the oil cap was and a 1/2 inch line routed up toward the oil pump line zaped starped to it then a nice bend all the way down drilled a tight hole in the belly pan by the exhaust and stuck it through there works great. and super clean

Mine leaks like crazy. It wasn't like that last year. And yes I know there no cap on it. You can see the oil in the can.

The pic above will solve all your oily mess issues from your cap! Your sled will look like new under the hood for as long as you own your turbo'd PRO!

My pic is from updating my 12 kit to all the 13 parts. You can see the oil tank and pump are different in the pic. The 13 kit come's with a way better cap but it's like a RV (relief valve). If pressure from the hot oil in the tank expands it will relieve out the cap causing a oil film at the bottom of your side panel. So if you want no chance of mess just do like I did and problem solved!:face-icon-small-hap. By the way the updated parts work awesome and look even better! Great kit! Good job Justin and Dobeck!
